Rachel is a well-established Natural History Illustrator she has a longstanding relationship with Kew Gardens and spent many years illustrating pressed and dried specimens within the Herbarium. Rachel studied at Royal College of Art for her MA and PhD. She has been awarded four gold medals from the Royal Horticultural Society. Rachel’s paintings have been adapted into Liberty Art fabric designs, one of these ‘Floral Eve’ was in turn used by Vivien Westwood for a dress in her Summer 2013 collection. Rachel has had three solo shows in London and has been part of numerous group exhibitions worldwide. In 2011 Rachel’s painting ‘Bean Painting, Specimens from the Leguminosae family’ was selected to represent contemporary natural history painting in the ‘Watercolour’ exhibition at the Tate Britain. Rachel’s paintings are held in many notable collections worldwide.
