Kay Rees-Davies was born in Brighton in 1936. She moved to North Wales in 1961 and began to study Botanical Art. She was awarded eight RHS medals, four of them gold, and Dr Shirley Sherwood bought a painting of Hedera helix ‘Sulphur Heart’ at the RHS. She has five paintings in the RHS Lindley Library; several in the archive of the Chelsea Physic Garden; two in The Hunt Institute, Pittsburgh USA; one in the Highgrove Florilegium and one in the Shirley Sherwood Collection.
