Gained a BA (Hons) in Illustration and Printmaking from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee, before moving to Cape Town in 1984. Over the next twelve years she painted the flora and fauna of the Cape, illustrating and co-authoring two books there. Her third book, The Smallest Kingdom, was published by Kew in 2011. After a decade of teaching back in Scotland, Liz returned to full-time painting and now runs her own publishing and painting venture in East Lothian.
